Fool’s dagger! I’ve never drawn it properly, it’s always been sketched in as part of her drawings, rather than being a standalone thing. Every time I draw it, it turns out slightly different, so I wanted this to be a template/baseline – though I think it will continue to change every time I draw it haha, since I haven’t resolved all the metal bits to my own satisfaction. It’s such a pretty dagger!

E T H E R E A L

Yay it’s finally done!

I thought my hand was totally going to die since I don’t use a tablet enough to use it well; I keep death gripping the stylus and my hand was twitching uncontrollably.

I can’t wait to go back to some pencil drawings and destroy my back instead!

The Ethereal set – Ristrel, Syndrafiel, Yverrine, Fool. I wasn’t sure if I wanted a four character panel or more/less; when I was looking through my records, I had the option of adding Entropy (who I’ve never drawn, even in concept) and the Ethereal Angel (I forgot her name, it’s too long and I never mention it), but I also didn’t have design for her. So just the four main ones it was!

I drew each one separately so their heights and sizes aren’t quite right, but the whole goal of this was to get a standalone yet flowing background for each of them, that was definitely fun to do!

The Deadliest Hipsters

I should really just pop them into an alternate reality where they are all buddies lol.

I don’t really remember the original caption anymore, but something along the lines of:

Ris: You’re so adorably hipster like us!

Irutha: No, I’m not.

Fool: You totally are.

Dragon

It’s been a long while since I last drew dragons. But I just finished Assassin’s Fate and I love it! I have missed the Fool! The Fool is so cool! At first, when Fitz and the Fool came out as a series I was concerned because I liked the ending of the Tawny Man series as it was – I was afraid that an extra series might not be as satisfying. The fear of the anticlimactic end.

But wow.

Wow.

She knew. She must have known – the ending could never have been anything else; of course it would happen the way it did. And it’s so fitting, and I’m so happy! I think I need to read all of the Fool books again, and in order. That journey, so epic, so tragic, so wonderful, so happy, so sad, so alive.
