  • Running running running

    And a tiny mug!

So this year I’ve started something called Project Lower Cholesterol because my tests came back higher than last time, which wasn’t what I was expecting!

I love my butter and buttery pastries and cream-topped einspanners too much, but I consider my “I love food” to be all food so I’m 3 months into cutting out 99.5% butter and most animal fats.

Just fixing my diet isn’t enough so I started running again (my last time being during Covid where I failed miserably) and to my surprise I’m actually surviving? I still don’t enjoy it but 12km according to Google maps (last time I ran this route it was just over 11km so there is some variance) would be my record! That’s a lot of running!

Except it seems my shin splints are spreading so I’d better rest a bit!

  • Linkin Park – From Zero world tour

    Wow.

I don’t know why, but this was definitely totally a step up from my first Linkin Park concert experience (or maybe it’s just my memory fading and they were equally awesome)!

Except I do wish I booked the pit, the seats were fine but my goodness the absolute excitement and energy of the pit is just something else! I’m not sure I have the stamina these days to compete for front row haha, though it does seem like LPU is the way to go – they even had a VIP line for merch! I really wanted to flex my LPU membership but I had nothing to buy, so instead I just watched the line as other people picked up goodies.

  • Hello World!

    HELLO WORLD I AM BACK!

I went offline for a year because I decided to try out a different domain/hosting provider and I didn’t like how everything looked. How can a blog NOT track timestamps???

Anyway, I’m back and I have to fix everything and re-upload all the pictures all over again! Who knows how long that will take so here is a placeholder picture of Harri and Henry 😀

  • Reine’s Kitchen 2024

I think it’s been a while since I’ve posted any cooking adventures, but this Christmas I had plenty of time to really treat myself to some fancy food!

Ok, this cake was not something I made haha. This is my second ever whole cake purchase for just myself, a pistachio trifle cake from Teeter Bakery and it was amazing! I was worried it’d be too big for one person to finish, but I managed it over 3 days, which was pretty good!

  • Windblown early access

I never thought I’d decide to play any game early access. I’m gonna wait out Hades 2 for full release. However, one day I opened up Steam and there just happened to be a livestream of Windblown and I’m like here, take my money….

It’s so much fun! It’ll be interesting to see how the game changes over the next year! I am loving the different font sizes of cray yelling haha.

Now I’m finally on Cataclysmic difficulty! And I got what’s apparently the rarest skin in the game so far, Project 2501!

  • Inversion Flow

It’s been a long time since I’ve drawn! Trying a completely different technique and this went places; at first her face was too ashen and she reminded me of a vampire. I warmed up the skin a bit but mainly this was just an experiment of making some gold highlights pop.

Gotta get more ideas for drawing!!!

  • Brahms’ Splendour

Wooow! This has been my favourite concert so far this year! I remember when I first heard Brahms’ violin concerto, I was like, it’s nice. But then the more I listened to it the more it grew on me and got stuck in my head quite often too.

And my goodness, seeing it performed in real life is nothing like hearing a recording on trashy computer speakers! There is so much more definition when the entire orchestra is in front of you! And so many things I didn’t know – I am actually so bad at explaining this but in the third movement, I didn’t realise there was a bit where the first violins actually don’t play a few notes that I thought they did! They alternated with another section but I was totally clueless haha.

The other thing about having listened to it only when doing other things was that I had no idea there was a cadenza and I was like, where is this? Am I supposed to know what this part is?

I really need to keep listening and studying so that I actually understand what’s going on!

  • Finally! A Zero Japan Teapot!!

I finally found a Zero Japan teapot at the shops and decided to buy it! What a lovely pink colour and I love the way the spout pours! Although I’ve noticed that the angle at which I need to pour is a lot less steep than my current teapot; I am currently spilling tea through the top rather than just getting all the liquid out from the spout, so I have to refine my technique!
