Trying a shiny glowy anime style!
Ah it feels kind of refreshing, but at the same time I really just want to focus on my own characters. I took so much from the characters I admired and made them my own, but this was definitely fun!
I specifically wanted to practise a more "glowy" style with backlighting and just more depth and saturation than before, and I'm happy with the results!
Also Jujutsu Kaisen is such a silly over the top show. Very fun to watch, though I didn't expect to not become obsessed with Gojo immediately. He's definitely the arrogant powerful outwardly happy type that I like but the lack of backstory seems to have made him not interesting to me! So I have a feeling season 2 will change that for sure. In the meantime, I think Inumaki Toge is amazing so I decided to draw him instead!
And of course Okita Souji!!! I've wanted to draw him since I first watched Peacemaker Kurogane sooo long ago, but at the time I didn't have the skills to not copy a screenshot directly. Now I felt like I could actually make him as pretty as I wanted! Yay! It's definitely liberating to be able to draw my own poses and bring these characters to life in my own style!
And Freik, the first experiment in this style. My favourite pretty demon who I can draw easily as a baseline to start this experimentation! How cute does he look in a pink shirt too!

I am completely dead! Two of my biggest projects to date! I accidentally stumbled upon Polyphia when I was looking for progressive jazz fusion. Tim's tattoos were so interesting that I wanted try drawing them (why??? Am I crazy???).
The digital piece had so many new elements for me to try - a full guitar, detailed clothes, entire upper body, and a tattoo overlay. It turned out pretty well!
I don't know what I was thinking and why attempting to draw his full back tattoos was a good idea, that's some serious art-ception to tackle! Miraculously, most of the designs are in roughly the right place, I'd say between 60 - 70% accuracy?
I'm all technical-ed out now and need to rot my brain with non drawing things!
How's your naked man friend?

Good Omens is great! I really love that Crowley drinks 6 shots of espresso in a giant mug, though I would prefer it much more if he drank espressos one after another, in small espresso cups!
Anyways, these are technically speed drawings; I completed both in around about 3 hours, not happy with how Aziraphale turned out but I do like Crowley's style!
